It's Been a While

I don't even know where to begin!! It's been so long since I've updated or even had a chance to get on a computer! Now that I am back at work, we stay on a daily schedule and even though it allows me SOME free time, Justin and I try to spend that time together. Not to mention that we still have a house that needs to be cleaned, laundry to do, dishes to wash, errands to run, groceries to buy, etc... You get the point. Computer time seems to fall towards the end of those priorities....I'm sure you understand.

Austin is 12 weeks old now! He is growing so much every day and is just the sweetest, cutest thing I have ever seen. It was extremely hard to leave him at day-care that first day. I cried the day before, I cried that morning getting ready and driving to work, I cried at the day-care and I cried once I got to work. I went to see him during lunch and spent almost my entire lunch hour there at school rocking him and feeding him. It definitely makes 5:00 soooo much better, knowing that I get to go pick him up and see that smiling face again!

He slept through the night for the first time the night of my last blog update - the night before I returned to work! My baby knew how bad his mommy needed some sleep that night! We were amazed when we woke up the next morning and realized that we had slept all night without any interruptions. He still continues to sleep through the night and is thriving on the schedule we started him on. He loves his bath time and it gets him really relaxed right before bed. I love to see him smiling and kicking around in his bathtub! We're so thankful that he is a baby that enjoys the water...I can't imagine him fussing and screaming every time I gave him a bath!

He had his two month old checkup a few weeks ago and got his first set of shots. He did pretty good and only cried when we had to hold his arms and legs down so that he wouldn't hit the nurse with his flailing limbs while she stuck him. Once the sticks were over and I could pick him up, he calmed right down. I think I had more tears than he did! Other than that, the doctor said he is perfectly healthy and was happy about his growth. He weighed 12.2 pounds, was 24in long and was in the 90th percentile for height and 80th percentile for weight.

Last night he did the most amazing thing!! I've noticed the last few days that he has been putting his lips together like he is trying to make a "mmmm" sound. He's also had a little bit of spit when he does that so it made me think that he is trying to start blowing bubbles. Well, last night I had him on the changing table and was just talking to him and making faces and I started making that noise where you put your lips together and blow out - you know, it makes your lips vibrate and makes that funny noise. Well, after watching me do it, he kept trying and trying. Finally he did it himself!!! It only took him a few tries and he did it! It was the coolest thing to watch him mimic me - he was learning right before our eyes! Of course once we got the video camera ready, he wouldn't do it again! Maybe next time we can get it on film!

Last weekend Justin and I went to the beach with our best friends Scottie and Beth Ann for a joint bachelor/bachelorette weekend. We had a great time, although I enjoyed one too many cocktails Friday night and paid for it dearly. Hard to know your limit when you haven't drank in a year!! Their wedding was amazing and so much fun! We felt so blessed to be a part of their big day. They are such dear friends and it meant the world to us to be there with them during this special time.

That's about all I have time for now but hopefully I'll get some pictures posted soon!
