Christmas/New Year's

We had a great Christmas this year and it was so fun seeing Austin get excited about all of his toys. Last year, he seemed a little overwhelmed, not to mention he was so sick. This year, he dug right in! We had Christmas Eve dinner at Justin’s parents with them and his grandparents like we do every year. His grandparents got Austin a tricycle, which we were trying to keep hidden behind the couch until we opened presents. Of course that didn’t work out so well. All of a sudden we hear Austin saying “My bike!!” We knew then that he had found it. He loved it, even though his legs weren’t quite long enough to reach the pedals!

Christmas morning was so fun at our house. I loved seeing Austin’s face when he walked in and saw all of his presents. It’s nice to see our own family traditions being started for the holidays. Playing Santa the night before was also pretty fun! Justin and I got to take all the stuff out of packages, put things together, put batteries in and of course test out a few of them! We went back over to Justin’s parents for breakfast before we headed to my grandmother’s for lunch with my family.

Justin and I actually got to get back to our New Year’s roots this year and go see Panic on New Year’s Eve. It’s been a few years since we’ve done that, due to them playing in other parts of the country, taking breaks and me being pregnant. This year they were playing in Charlotte, NC, which could not have worked out better for us, considering our best friends live there. We got there late Thursday night and the fun began! There were six of us total, three couples. The next day was pretty lazy, but we had a great dinner and then drinks at the hookah bar near their condo. Saturday was the concert and after a yummy lunch, we made our own version of hunch punch, which definitely needed some work, but was still tasty. Scott had also perfected a 2012 ice luge for shots, which was hilarious and so fun. The concert was within walking distance (bonus!) and we all had a great time. The show could have been better, but the best part was that we got to spend a great evening with some great friends.

Here are a few pics from our holiday season!
